volunteer as a steward

Calling all Wonderful humans!

To run our annual pride event we need over 80 volunteers to support on the day. These people will help to run pride safely, and have the most fun possible.

We have arranged a shift pattern system so you don’t have to volunteer for the entire day. We will also do all we can to place groups and friends together on shifts for the day too.

All volunteers must take part in training before the event for everyone’s safety please sign up by March 31st 2024.

how can i talk to someone about the role?

You can contact Annie Bennett (she / they) Volunteer co-ordinator on volunteer@exeterpride.co.uk but if you are happy to apply please fill in our form.

What is required before the day?

We need you to attend a meeting in February, either:

Online: Monday 12th February 7pm. (30-45mins)

Face-to-face: Monday 26th February, Exeter Phoenix 7pm. (30-45mins)

There are further sessions and radio training for stewards who will be using them. We will send out full details.

We take the safety of everyone very seriously so when signing up to steward you’ll be taken through our code of conduct for all members representing Exeter Pride.

What do the shifts look like?

You will either be at The Phoenix, Nothernhay Gardens or walking in the march itself.

We will need all volunteer stewards to cover different shifts.

There are several different shift patterns

  • 10.30am sign on and volunteering 11am - 3pm

  • 1.30pm sign on and volunteering 2pm-6pm
