Katie Moudry

(they/them)

Chair

‘Our noble leader’

I joined Exeter Pride in 2019 first as a trustee, then as Secretary and now as Chair. Working in pride has brought together my experience in event organising, political activism and community building in a way that I’ve found really rewarding, with the bonus of have met a bunch of lovely people through my roles.

Tamsin Scott

(they/them)

Secretary

‘It was in the minutes…’

I initially joined pride because I wanted more prominent visibility for trans and genderqueer people, and to to provide more opportunities for us to support each other. I think Pride also acts as an annual lightning rod for the queer community, bringing more people together and galvanising local grassroots activism.

Dale Austin

(he/him)

Treasurer

‘Better get fundraising’

I joined Exeter Pride in 2023 and am a Devon born bald man who works in finance. I am a huge Marvel & Star Wars fan and get on much better with animals than I do with humans. I got involved with pride because I truly believe in the message of inclusivity, diversity & equality within this world and want to do everything in my limited power to help promote this.

Alan Quick

(he/him)

Co-founder & trustee

‘Pride’s granddaddy’

Alan was the inspiration behind the establishment of Exeter Pride, which he did with the late Michael Halls, CEO of Intercom, the LGBT+ support network in the South West of England, assisted by a small number of other volunteers. Alan was chair of Exeter Pride for three years and continues as an active trustee with the committee to this day.

Russell Back

(he/him)

Comms Co-Ordinator & Designated Safeguarding Lead

‘get it on the socials’

I joined Exeter Pride in 2023, like many others after the unfortunate cancelation that year. Exeter Pride doesn't just happen and it made total sense to just get involved and see what I could do to help. It has been incredible to meet so many amazing people, find out about all the different community groups and have a lot of laughs on the way.

Annie Bennet

(she/they)

Volunteer co-ordinator

‘Megaphone queen’

I joined Exeter Pride in 2023. I am a teacher, tutor and writer based in Exeter. As a bisexual, genderfluid person who grew up in rural Devon, I remember the freedom, validation and joy I felt when I attended my first Pride. I want to give back to the community and create a sustainable, inclusive Pride that celebrates, educates and supports LGBTQ+ people, allies and others.

Sophie Haines

(she/her)

Sponsorship co-ordinator

‘Give me your money’

I joined Exeter pride this year (2024). I believe that everyone has the right to love, whatever their sexuality. After coming out as bisexual two years ago I understand how important it is to feel heard in the community. I am passionate about LGBTQ+ rights and wanted to show my support through volunteering for Exeter Pride.

Kat mant

(she/her)

Health & Safety Co-ordinator

‘Fun sponge’

I joined Exeter Pride in 2023, I’ve always been a passionate advocate for the LGBTQ+ community (before realising I myself was a part of it!). I went to my first Exeter pride in 2013 and the joy, comfort and freedom of being surrounded by like-minded people in the community was something I will always cherish.

Amber Shoremarston

(she/her)

Phoenix co-ordinator

‘yeah I’m sure there is space in the Phoenix’

I spent my early gay days of coming out in Exeter, and Exeter Pride 2011 was my first Pride ever so I'm ecstatic to be involved 13 years later! I volunteered to join Exeter Pride, thinking I'd hold the flag or help in any small way possible to make sure this year's event goes ahead and now here I am, working and meeting the most open minded amazing people I could ask to work with!

Lottie Stanley

(she/her)

Marketplace Co-ordinator

‘Not another rainbow stall’

I joined Exeter Pride’s committee in 2024. As a local parent and shopkeeper I wanted to join the pride team to help curate our amazing pride day marketplace. I am particularly passionate about showcasing as many talented LGBTQ+ artists, shop holders and businesses as possible at our events.

Miso Rapekenene

March co-ordniator

‘hold on to the flag!’

I joined Exeter Pride in 2024 because I am passionate about supporting the rights of all members of the LGBTQ+ community. I also feel strongly about promoting inclusivity and diversity within our community too and ensuring we represent all groups not just the loudest ones!

Mark

‘research guru’

I first attended Exeter Pride in 2014, Volunteered from 2016 and eventually joined the committee in 2019. I’m a genderqueer aromantic pansexual person and joined the committee as I wanted to make sure that Exeter Pride is open and inclusive to all, Including any who may not fit with stereotypes.
